Three steps to finding your ideal rental home in Knightsbridge

Finding your dream rental in Knightsbridge is easier than you think. Here’s what you need to do...

1. Priority - what do you want from your property?

The first step is be clear what you want from your rental and where your priorities lie.

Do you dream of a picturesque mews house, a charming Victorian or  Edwardian building with a modern interior or perhaps an entirely modern apartment block?

In Knightsbridge and Belgravia you are most likely to find historical buildings which ooze character and are located in quiet well-kept squares with gated gardens.

Prioritise where space is most important. Do you want large open plan living space or a big kitchen, how many bedrooms do you need and are outdoor space or parking a priority?

Finally, do you want an unfurnished space to add your own style or a place that’s already been fabulously furnished?

2. Set your budget

Next, decide on your budget. On average properties in Knightsbridge start at £500 per week and can be in excess of £7,000 per week. Remember in this area rent is always quoted weekly not monthly.

3. Use your agent’s expertise

A key step in securing a Knightsbridge property is getting to know your agent.  Now that you know your budget and priorities, your agent can find and recommend only properties that match your requirements.

No-one knows Knightsbridge like we do -  as well as finding you your dream property, we can also help you get to know the area and advise on local amenities, schools, colleges, restaurants, museum and shops.

We will be with you every step of the way - to take the stress out of everything from viewings to negotiation. We always liaise with landlords to arrange viewing times to suit your schedule, plus we’ll accompany you on each visit. This way we’ll get to know you better and find out more about what’s important to you.

What happens next?

Found the one? Here’s what happens next… Once you've found your Knightsbridge property, Hobart Slater will guide you through the legal steps, including:

Securing the property

We will liaise with the landlord to confirm any special requests such as short lets, furniture or pets.

Tenancy Agreement

We'll draw up the tenancy agreement for you to review. It's important to ensure everything is agreed before you move in.

Referencing process

We will make sure you have the right information in place so we can move quickly and you don’t miss out on the property you want.

Understanding the fees

We will work out your deposit value (normally six weeks rent) and any administrative fees so you know what you are paying. We’ll log your deposit with Deposit Protection Service where it will stay until the end of your tenancy. When we’ll guide you through the check-out process.

Getting the keys

The best part - once the legal process is complete, referencing approved and required funds are transferred - the keys are yours!

Check-in process

We’ll arrange for an independent clerk to write up a detailed inventory on the exact condition of the premises which is agreed between the tenant and landlord.

Meet your property manager

If we manage the property, you will meet your property manager who will be available to help you settle in, and be your day-to-day contact during the length of your tenancy.

By prioritising, setting your budget and getting to know your agent, you will be able to find your dream rental home. We’re here to help every step of the way, so feel free to drop by for a visit and discuss your needs.
