Five things to do in Knightsbridge with kids

1. Science and Natural History Museum

Currently running in the IMAX is Under the Sea 3D, a magical adventure through the oceans narrated by Jim Carrey. Suitable for all ages, it’s a chance to get up close and personal (virtually!) with some of the most visually stunning sea creatures. Alternatively, also running during half term is the Cockroach Tour of the Science Museum, a unique way to experience the museum and learn more about the cockroach (the planet’s true survivors, having outlived the dinosaurs).

If your little ones are budding scientists, they’ll love the chance to become a scientist for a day at the Natural History Museum. The special exhibit in the Investigate Centre offers a chance to play with and examine the exhibits used by scientists in their everyday work.

2. Hyde Park

It sounds so simple but Hyde Park is just perfect to let those kids loose and just let them be themselves. Especially at this time of year, when the daffodils are popping up and sun is starting to shine… Spring is coming!

3. Harrods Toy Kingdom

There’s bound to be something they’ll love in the 26,000ft toy kingdom - a veritable treasure trove of toys and adventure for all children, packed with everything from classic Steiff teddies to hi-tech robots and the latest lego kits. They’ll be entertained for hours in the different worlds of the kingdom, including The Enchanted Forest, where fairies whisper from tree trunks and the Big Top, where life-sized soft toys mingle with magicians and jugglers.

4. Sunday Stroll Skating

If you’re feeling energetic why not get your skates on for a leisurely Sunday afternoon skate through Hyde Park. Children and adults are welcome to take part, but there’s nothing stopping you from enjoying a steaming latte from the sidelines while the children burn off some energy.

5. Kensington Creperie

After checking out a museum, shopping or skating, there’s bound to be some rumbling tummies. In which case head to Kensington Creperie, home to London’s finest french crepes. The menu is outrageously good and packed full of deliciously tempting crepes and waffles, all of which are cooked to order, exactly how you like them. Our favourite is the hazelnut chocolate cream - hazelnuts, butter, cream and triple belgian chocolate piled into a crispy crepe, heaven. Avoiding sugar? Savoury crepes and salads are also on the menu.
